As part of Berlin's celebration of Diversity Day on May 28th LiTE-HAUS Galerie + Projektraum presents “FROM BERLIN WITH LOVE”, an exhibition featuring the work of Oliver Rednitz. The exhibition documents works, objects, installations such as the 'iTower' and happenings of the last four years. Visitors and residents will be part of the exhibition and participate in making postcards and collages as well as seeing posters from recent interventions in Berlin, Athens, Istanbul and Rio de Janeiro. In particular, the interactive installation 'iTower', which invites all visitors to participate, serves to reduce inhibitions and perceive cultural differences as enrichment.

 

With his dynamic projects, installations and happenings, Oliver explores the opportunities of cityscapes and creates a playground where citizens can easily come together and communicate with each other. The happenings often employ diverse techniques - from street art to workshops and interactive installation.

 

In his latest works, Oliver O. Rednitz critically examines commercial propaganda. He deals with large scale collages on the cities' billboards, using fragments of advertisements and promotional materials. Extracting images and slogans from the brands' posters, he forms new messages that often have religious, or spiritual meanings and communicate the word of acceptance and love. The commercial propaganda is therefore being neutralized.

Im Rahmen der Feierlichkeiten zum Tag der Vielfalt am 28. Mai präsentiert die LiTE-HAUS Galerie + Projektraum "FROM BERLIN WITH LOVE" das Werk von Oliver Rednitz. Die Ausstellung dokumentiert Arbeiten, Objekte, Installationen wie der 'iTower' und Happenings der letzten vier Jahre. Besucher und Anwohner werden Teil der Ausstellung und partizipieren zwischen Postkarten, Collagen und Plakaten der letzten Interventionen in Berlin, Athen, Istanbul und Rio de Janeiro. Insbesondere die interaktive Installation 'iTower', die alle Besucherinnen einlädt, mitzuwirken, dient Hemmschwellen abzubauen und kulturelle Unterschiede als Bereicherung wahrzunehmen.

 

Innerhalb seiner Installationen und Happenings schafft Oliver eine Basis, die es den Besuchern erlaubt, miteinander zu kommunizieren. Die Menschen werden innerhalb der Aktion zur Konversation angeregt und verwirklichen gemeinsam mit einfachen Mitteln eine Mischung aus Streetart, Workshop und interaktive Installation.

 

In jüngster Zeit beschäftigt sich Oliver O. Rednitz vermehrt mit großformatigen Collagen im öffentlichen Raum. Dabei verwendet er Fragmente, aus Werbetafeln, trennt die Abbildungen und Slogans von den Produkten und Marken, gibt den Aussagen ihre ursprüngliche teilweise religiöse Bedeutung zurück, hinterfragt kritisch die Werbestrategien und neutralisiert diese im öffentlichen Raum.
